Michelle & Jaxon ’s Story

Finding a natural steroid-free product was a difficult process. When Jaxon was diagnosed I was at the point of desperation. I wanted so much to take away my sons discomfort and help him. I took him to the Doctor and after trying creams that had little or no effect, she referred us to a skin specialist. The specialist recommended I use a steroid cream along with a Fatty Lemnis cream and Aqueous cream. After reading the ‘fine’ print, I was really unhappy to use the steroid based cream (even if was only .1%) as a prolonged way to treat my sons skin and I didn’t enjoy using the Aqueous – the Fatty cream feels ok, however it is made of synthetic ingredients and I always preferred to use natures ingredients where possible.

It is mostly common knowledge that the prolonged use of steroids can have significant long term effects on the body – it works, I don’t deny that, and I was relieved to see him improve dramatically, yet I was very keen to find a natural product that I could use on an ongoing basis to help keep his skin healthy and in good condition.

So then the search began! I spent hundreds of dollars going to the Naturopaths, and other alternative healers. I started researching the condition and found it was a very difficult process to find a reasonable cure – in fact there doesn’t seem to be a cure. One of the most frustrating things I found was that there was very little support for families dealing with skin conditions – ( fortunately this has changed over the past few years with the set up of Allergy New Zealand.) I had to find and talk to many people to gain my knowledge and to make an informed decision on how I could get to the ‘root’ of the problem and find a suitable treatment plan.

I found that skin conditions could be due to many different things, I look at it now as 3 differing groups of what causes it to happen,

  1. Genetics – If you have a history of Asthma, Hayfever and Eczema in the family then you may have a predisposition to it.
  2. Environmental – The body or skin reacting to or allergic to external factors – such as washing powder, wool etc.
  3. Food Allergy – Intolerance to food such as wheat or dairy products, citrus etc which is very common.

To cut a long story short – I put Jaxon on a supplemented diet for a few months and I worked extensively with Dr Travis Blood (my then business partner) to develop xmaease to promote the natural healing and moisturising of his dry skin. Jaxon has been using xma ease for several years now, and what a difference it has made – he has been steroid free since! What better way to treat your family – naturally!

I feel absolutely blessed to be able to bring this to the market and show people my confidence in this product, that is why I am personally backing xma ease as I feel it important to put a face to the product , it adds credibility and I am putting myself on the line because I believe in it – it helps maintain Jaxon’s skin and keeps it healthy, and I want people to have the confidence to try it.
